Cooling circuit analysis
Cooling line layout Coolant conditions Optimization of heat removal Warp reduction Selection of high conductivity metals Cycle time optimization
Cooling studies model the cooling circuits and evaluate the circuit location, coolant flow rates, temperatures, and pressures.
Heat input and extraction is analyzed to determine the uniformity and efficiency of heat removal from the plastic part. The coolant and cooling layout can be modified until the optimum cooling conditions and cycle times are achieved.
Mold materials, and cooling components such as baffles and bubblers can be compared beforehand so that costly and difficult changes to the cooling system can be avoided.
